Easy Halwa

DSC05949

Halwa is one universal favourite Dessert recipe for us Indians! I am sure everybody loves it. There are many variations to this recipe ranging from Pumpkin Halwa to Pineapple Halwa! Here in the Middle east too there are similar Halwa recipes but are named differently! More details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halva

I saw this recipe from Afreen Usman at the Sikandalous Cuisine FB Page & wanted to make this the moment I saw it! so damn easy and her photograph looked so damn tempting! I recreated this on a lovely Friday morning! and the result was awesomely delicious! Although my result looks nowhere close to the brilliance of Afreen but still the taste was mighty good!

Easy Halwa

BIG thanks to Afreen…The first time I made halwa and it taste so damn good! so delightful and rewarding!

Minimum Fuss and Maximum Results as they say is the underlying theme of this recipe!

Ingredients:

Semolina/Suji: 1 cup
Milk powder (We used full cream version): 1 cup
Sugar 5 tsp ( to get the Sugar Caramelization Effect)
Chopped Cashews/Kaju 2 tbsp
Raisins/Kishmish: 2 tbsp
Splenda: 1/2 cup
Refined Oil: 3/4th cup
Water: 2 cups

Method:

Put all ingredients except water in a thick bottom kadai and bhunno on low flame till it turns into a nice brown colour. Then add the water and cover it for a few minutes. (yes it is that simple!)

Now make this and get lost in the flavours of this wonderfully easy recipe!

So till the time we meet again…

Cheers to life…

Till then ride safe and have safe sex…

Inquilab Zindabad…

Hasta la Victoria Siempre…
