While searching for some baking recipes, I got hold of this one which looked a sure-shot winner. Non-complicated and with very few ingredients; I fell in love instantly and it came out so damn perfect!

I followed this recipe: Sticky Honey Garlic Chicken Wings from a blog named The Endless Meal managed by a Canadian lady named Kristen.

The sticky, super crispy, garlicky, perfectly baked and flavourful wings were mighty delicious! I am sure you would fall in love too. Do give it a shot folks.

Ingredients:

7 chicken wings
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon red chili flakes
1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
Toasted Sesame seeds, for garnish

For the glaze:

2 tbsp honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon finely grated ginger
1 tablespoon finely minced garlic
½ teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon red chili flakes

Method:

1. Place the chicken wings in a large bowl and toss them with the sesame oil, salt, red chili flakes and pepper.

2. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

3. Place the wings on the prepared baking tray and put them in the oven for 30 minutestill they are crispy.

4. While the chicken wings are baking, make the glaze. Add all the glaze ingredients to a small frying pan over medium-high heat. Boil rapidly for 3-4 minutes, or until the glaze has reduced to 3-4 tbsp. Remove from the heat.

5. Once the chicken wings are crispy remove them from the oven and toss them with the glaze. Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and serve immediately.

6. Thank me Later.

Important Things to Note:

1. Turn the oven to 220 degrees. You want it hot, but not so hot it will burn the wings.

2. Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. This is very important as it prevents the wings from sticking to the baking pan. Stuck on wings means you leave the crispiness on the pan.

3. Coat them with oil. Even though the skin is full of fat, don’t skip this step. Fat renders fat. You need the fat in the skin to ‘melt’ so that the skin turns crispy.

4. Keep these in the oven until they’re nice and crispy. Don’t worry about overcooking the chicken, it will be amazing.

5. And please keep the skin on!
