I saw this recipe from Mr. Narendra Chandala on Sikandalous Cuisine few days back and fell in love at the first sight! Come Thursday, I was ready to get to the kitchen and make this delicious looking recipe. I made some minor changes but the result was absolutely lip-smacking. The dish tasted so good, was quite hot & spicy and perfect to kick-start our weekend. I gave the recipe a new name though as it definitely was Dhamaal! Do give this a shot folks!

I added 2 type of red chilli powders & 4 green chillies in the recipe which ensured that I was sweating a lot after my dinner! But both of us love this spicy quotient in our meals and it was not much of a problem for us. You can cut down on their quantity depending on your preference.

The Recipe…

Ingredients:

Chicken: 1 KG (cut into small pieces, cleaned and pat dry)

For the Marinade:

Chicken: 1 KG (cut into small pieces, cleaned and pat dry)
For the Marinade:
Onion: 1 Big, finely chopped
Tomato: 1 Big, finely chopped
Kashmiri Mirch Powder: 1 tbsp
Teekhi Laal Mirch Powder: 1 tbsp
Green Chillies: 4, finely sliced
Coriander Powder: 2 tbsp
Cumin Powder: 1 tsp
Turmeric: 1/2 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste: 2 tbsp
Lemon Juice: 1.5 tbsp
Yoghurt: 1 tbsp
Kasuri Methi: 2 tsp
Salt: As per taste

Curry Leaves: Handful!
Garam masala Powder: 1 tsp
Kasuri Methi: 1 tsp
Oil: 2 tbsp
Water: 1 cup

Method:

1. Marinate the Chicken pieces with all the listed ingredients after mixing them well for 45-60 minutes.

2. Heat the oil in a pan, splutter the curry leaves and add the marinated chicken.

3. Cook on high flame for 5-7 minus to seal the juices.

4. Add the water, bring to a boil, cover and cook on low flame till the chicken gets cooked properly.

5. Add the garam masala powder and kasuri methi and cook for another 5 minutes on medium heat. Keep the gravy consistency as per your liking.

6. Serve piping hot with tawa rotis.
